The Pink Lotus Spa was conceived as a wellness destination that would feel both distinctive and deeply calming. The client wanted a space that felt luxurious and memorable, but still gentle in tone — somewhere guests could immediately begin to relax from the moment they entered. The design therefore needed to balance a recognisable visual identity with a genuine sense of stillness and comfort.

Spatial planning played a major role in shaping the guest experience across the spa. The layout needed to support reception, waiting, treatment rooms, changing areas, and quieter transition zones while maintaining a consistent feeling of calm from one space to the next. Each area was designed to feel clearly organised, but never abrupt or overly functional in character. Special attention was given to pacing and movement through the interior. The journey from arrival to treatment was designed to unfold gently, with each zone offering a slightly different mood while remaining connected to the overall concept. This helped the spa feel immersive and restorative, allowing guests to ease gradually into a slower, more intentional state of mind.

Materiality was central to the identity of The Pink Lotus Spa. Lime-washed walls, pale stone surfaces, and softly textured fabrics were layered together to create an interior that feels tactile and soothing. These materials were chosen not only for their visual softness, but for the way they reflect light and contribute to a more tranquil atmosphere.
The colour palette was deliberately restrained, using blush and muted rose as gentle accents rather than dominant statements. This kept the space elegant and timeless while still giving it a distinctive warmth and personality. The result is a spa interior that feels refined and recognisable, yet subtle enough to remain restful rather than overly styled.
